Bernice May (Hahn) Kallenbach, 75, of Eugene, MO, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO, surrounded by her family. Bernice was born January 31, 1945, at home in Hickory Hill, MO. She was the daughter of Herbert A. and Ruth A. (Payne) Hahn. She was married to Larry Paul Kallenbach on December 22, 1962, at the First Baptist Church of Hickory Hill. After graduating from Cole R-V High School I 1963, she earned her cosmetology license and operated her own business out of her home. Later, after many years of raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren, she went to work for Senators’ Christopher Bond and John Ashcroft as their Office manager in Jefferson City, MO, until retirement. After her retirement, she was fortunate enough to travel with Larry for his job. On many trips, they had opportunities to enjoy time together and site see across the U.S. spending time together with Larry and her family was what she enjoyed the most. Bernice was a member of the Tuscumbia First Baptist Church where she volunteered with the Women’s Ministries. Serving the Lord brought Bernice great joy.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Larry Kallenbach, who resides at their home in Eugene, MO; two children, Cris Kallenbach (Janet), of Eugene; Kim Brundage (Randy Lock) of Jefferson City, MO; four grandchildren, Steve Kallenbach (Jessica), Craig Kallenbach (Jami), both of Eugene, MO; Tanner Brundage (Mackenzie) of Holts Summit, MO and Darby Sullivan (Toby) of Columbia, MO; five great-grandchildren, Qwentin, Hayden, Liam, Heidi, and Adley Kallenbach, all of Eugene, MO; four sisters, Ruby Luethen, of Kansas City, MO; Bertha Busch (Curt), Janie Morrow (Ronnie), both of Hickory Hill, MO; and Marie Cox (William) of Joplin, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Ruth Hahn; one brother, Earl Hahn; one sister-in-law Connie Hahn, and one brother-in-law Howard Luethen .
Visitation will be at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, MO on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Services will immediately follow the visitation. After, there will be a gravesite service at Tuscumbia Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Bernice to the Miller County Care & Rehabilitation Center’s Residents Activity and Christmas Fund, 1157 MO-17, Tuscumbia, MO 65082.
