Benjamin Schneider died May 21 at Eldon Nursing Home. He was born July 19, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Benjamin and Blanche Schneider. He was raised and went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, where he was a president of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, captain of the wrestling team and cadet vice commander of the Air Force ROTC unit. He proudly served in the Air Force for 28 years and retired as a Colonel in 1985. He was active in Rotary, SCORE, and served in many ways in the Eldon Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, his son Eric Schneider, daughter Jennifer Hanly, and grandchildren Sarah Bley, and Grace, Julia, and Thomas Hanly.
Memorials in his name are suggested to the Eldon United Methodist Church of Eldon, MO.
Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Eldon United Methodist Church of Eldon, MO with a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jacob Lewellen officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented after the service.
