Basil Kidwell

Basil Kidwell, 93, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born February 25, 1929 in Barnett, Missouri the son of the late Ralph and Margaret (Stayton) Kidwell.  On September 28, 1947 in Versailles, Missouri he was united in marriage to Norma “June” (Deffenbaugh) Kidwell who preceded him in death on August 19, 2020. 

Survivors include,

Daughter, Sharon Holdridge of Jefferson City, MO

Grandson, Nathan Runyan (Cara) of Jefferson City, MO

Two Great-Grandchildren, Caden & Landen Runyan

Brother, Wayne Kidwell (Elizabeth) of Turlock, CA

Four siblings, Pauline Dutcher, Garland Kidwell, Donna Wakefield & Ruth Scrivner preceded him in death.

Basil enjoyed many trips with his wife to Europe, Alaska, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Israel, and Hawaii.  He attended Central Assembly of God Church in Springfield, MO.  He was an outdoorsman and greatly loved hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dan Wakefield officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, MO.

Memorials in his name are suggested to Hospice Compassus or Heisinger Bluffs of Jefferson City, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
