Barry "John" Tucker

Barry John Tucker, age 60, passed away Monday, Feb. 24 at his residence near Eldon, Missouri. John was born Nov. 4, 1964 at Tuscumbia, MO the son of Charles Paul Tucker and Patricia Shirley (Wright) Tucker.

John was a land surveyor by trade and a valued employee of Allen Surveying Co. for more than 30 years. He was a 1983 graduate of Tuscumbia High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University. John was a baptized member of the Saline Valley Church of Christ.

John Tucker was a congenial and unselfish person and a friend to many. John will  be well remembered by his nieces and nephews as a loving uncle--always available for fun trips for favorite fast food and swimming and camping adventures. Above all, John Tucker truly abided by God’s 5th Commandment to “Honor thy father and mother.” John lived with and diligently looked after his parents in their elder years. After their passing, he maintained the home as a joyous gathering place for his brothers, sister and the extended family.

John Tucker is survived by four brothers and one sister: Tim (Cindy) of Lenexa, KS, Monte (Toni) of Yukon, OK, Kim (Kelley) of Owasso, OK, Bradley (Amanda) of Edmond, OK and Jeanette (Ray) of Statesville, NC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Clay and Emma Tucker and Garsy and Ruby Wright

A visitation honoring Barry John Tucker will be held Saturday, March 1, 1-3 P.M. at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, MO. A celebration of his life will follow at 3 P.M. officiated by Bro. Travis Hardesty of the Oak Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Tuscumbia Cemetery, Tuscumbia, MO.

Donations in memory of John Tucker may be made to the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
