Barbara Bond Obituary

Barbara Ann (Twitchel) Bond went home to be with our Lord on January 15, 2022 at the age of 82.  Barbara was born on August 15, 1939, the fifth of eight children of Acle and Opal (Brown) Twitchel.  She grew up on a farm near High Point and graduated from Eldon High School in 1957.  Barbara married Norman Bond on July 25, 1959 at Olean Christian Church.  Norm and Barb first resided in the St. Louis area and moved to the Brazito area where they lived and raised their family for more than 48 years.  They moved to the High Point area in 2013.

Barbara was a member of Olean Christian Church and retired from Three Rivers Electric Cooperative in 2002.  She was an Avon Lady and a member of the Cole County Extension Club for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, crafts, reading, traveling, and many varieties of music with hymns and bluegrass as favorites.  She was also an excellent cook with a lively spirit and a sense of humor.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Les and Rex Twitchel, and two sisters Catherine “Kitty” Crow and Juanita Brown.

Barbara is survived by her husband Norman and their three daughters; Karen (and Greg Ott) of Russellville, Linda (and Jeff Jansen) of Russellville, and Nancy (and Andrew Harris) of Eldon;  two granddaughters, Sarah (and Luke Williams), and Rebecca (and Justin Morrisette); four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Katherine, and Grace Williams and Penelope Morissette; three sisters, Billie Sue Elmore of Clinton, MS, Jane Jarrett of Lebanon, MO, and Rozie Wood of Windsor, CO;  and many cousins, nieces and nephews spanning several generations.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Olean Christian Church with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Lon Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.
