Annetta (Kruse) Guilford

Annetta Guilford, 83, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, July 11th. She was born on March 24th, 1940 to William and Lillian Kruse in Brunswick, MO.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Jim Guilford; brother, Gerald Kruse; brothers-in-law Gary Guilford, Ron Breshears and sister-in-law, Wilma Kruse.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law Lonnis Breshears and Judy Guilford.

Annetta spent over 30 years teaching 6th grade and ESL students in the Eldon School District, where she developed many lasting friendships. She commented frequently how much she enjoyed teaching and would do it again in a heartbeat. Annetta also enjoyed her time as an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon, MO where she performed with the handbell choir, was part of the Altar Guild, and enjoyed listening to her husband perform in the choir.

Annetta is survived by her three daughters, Tammy, Danita (Mitch), Rhonda (Mike); five granddaughters Liesl, Hillary (Ricky), Lauren (Brian), Natalie (Sam) and Kate (Zac); and three great grandchildren Carter, Josie and Charlie, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

She always cherished spending time with family, which was of great importance to her. She passed away surrounded by family in Overland Park, KS with Neil Diamond, a longtime favorite, playing softly in the background.

Visitation will be Friday, July 21st from 1:00 to 4:00pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or the ALS Association in memory of her husband Jim at 6405 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66202.
