Anna McNeely Shipman Obituary

Anna Mae McNeely, Shipman, 92 of Eugene, left her earthly home May 19, 2021.  Anna Mae was born March 24, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (Long) Bontrager.  Anna Mae was married March 7, 1954 to James Arthur McNeely and together they had two children: James Arthur McNeely Jr. and Alan B. McNeely.

 

She graduated from Eugene High School in 1948 and became school secretary for Cole R-V for 37 years.  This was a rewarding career and helped provide for their two children after her husband passed away in 1969.

 

In 1977 she married the second love of her life, Bob Shipman.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, entertaining guests, Cardinal ball games, and any sports in which her grandchildren and great grandchildren participated.

 

Survivors include: her husband Bob Shipman, his children Brenda Schubert, Bruce Shipman, and Brent (Darla) Shipman, her son Alan (Joanie) McNeely.  Grandchildren include Sara McNeely of Lee’s Summit, Erin (Mark) Miller of Branson, and Andy McNeely of New Braunfels, Texas, Levi (Katie) McNeely of Dallas, Texas, Mandy (Jake) Evans of Henley, and Brandon (Kacey) Shipman of Jefferson City.  Great grandchildren include Addison, Mason, Jaxon, Baelor, Bayne, and Carson.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim McNeely, one son Jim McNeely Jr., and one daughter in law, Judy McNeely

 

Visitation will be Monday, May 24, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Eugene Christian Church Fellowship Hall with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Alan B. McNeely officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.

 

Memorials in her name are suggested to Eugene Christian Church, Spring Garden Cemetery,  or Show-Me Youth Christian Home.

 

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
