Alan Reed Irey

Alan Reed Irey, 55, of California, MO passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia from injuries sustained in a shop accident.
Alan was born April 24, 1959 in California, son of James Allee Irey and Mary Louise( Bolinger). He was married on June 6, 1981 to Brenda Kay Schnieders who survives at the home.
Alan graduated from California High School and worked and retired from Fabick company where he was an heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. A member of Operating engineers local 513. A proud family man, Alan loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, working out of doors, and NASCAR racing. Alan was the guy that would do anything for anybody.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home, his Mother, Louise Irey of California, two daughters Ashley Irey and Jessica Prettyman (Jeffrey) of California, two grandchildren, Braden Norman-Irey and Allie Prettyman. Two sisters, Joyce Zimmerman and Cheryl Irey, many brother and sister-in laws and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Annunciation Catholic Church at 10:00 am with the Reverend Tony Rinaldo and Deacon Ed Schepers officiating. Burial will be in the Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 From 4 to 7 pm also at the church. Memorials are suggested to the grandchildrens education fund c/o Phillips Funeral Home, 211 South Oak Street, California, MO 65018.
