Sharon M. Cole, 75, passed away on December 31, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ at Hospice of the Valley surrounded by family.
Sharon was born in St. Louis, Missouri August 9, 1943 to the late Elmer and Lila Koob. On March 6, 1964 she was united in marriage to the late Joe Cole.
Sharon is survived by her three daughters Susan Black (Dave) of Sun City, Arizona; Shelly Henderson (Bryan) of Eldon, Missouri; and Stacy Blair (Jeff) of Greenwood, Missouri. Nine grandchildren, Dave Black Jr.(Mauna Loa), Heather Rejon (Matt), Lexis McGuire (Malcolm), Lana Heckman, Leah Heckman, Brianna Henderson, Reece Henderson, Peyton Blair, Jude Blair and five great grandchildren Cora Black, Maisie Black, Lyla Cosgrove, Cole Lyneis and Kinsley Rejon. She is also survived by her longtime partner Gerard "Jerry" Harms of Eugene, Missouri; brother George Koob (Marilyn) of St. Louis, Missouri.
She was self-employed owning several retail businesses and real estate holdings. Sharon at one time was employed with Eldon School District where she worked with at risk and special needs students. She also worked for Missouri Employment Services in Jefferson City. In 2001 Sharon earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in Psychology and Business.
Sharon was civic minded and worked to improve the Eldon community. She served on Eldon City Council for ten years. She was an active member of Lions Club and Eldon Garden Club along with being an active supporter for expanding the Rock Island Trail. Sharon served on the board at Eldon First Christian Church.
Visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon Saturday, January 12 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 13, 2 pm at First Christian Church of Eldon with Interment at Eldon Cemetery and reception at First Christian Church of Eldon immediately following.
