Ralph J. Newmann

Ralph J. Newmann, 91, of Hoffman Estates, IL, formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed away on December 14, 2018. Husband of the late Bonnie (Tellman) Newmann for 50 years. Born in 1927 in St. Louis, MO to the late George and Frances Newmann.

Survivors include his children, Deborah Klein of Columbus, OH, Richard Newmann of Chino Hills, CA, and Lisa Beth Kosmas (Nick) of Carpentersville, IL. Seven grandchildren, J. Vincent Klein, Kenneth Klein (Christina), Carly Newmann, Paige Newmann, Trevor Newmann, Alexander Kosmas (Christina Castillo), and Daniel Kosmas. Great-grandchildren, Lily Klein and Kylie Klein. Siblings, Mary Lou Herget of St. Louis, MO, and Evelyn Keller of St. Louis, MO, George Newmann (Karen) of Ballwin, MO, and Kenneth Newmann (Regina) of St. Louis, MO.

Proceeded in death by brothers Roy, Donald, and Joseph.

Ralph served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for American Auto Insurance and then Kraft General Foods, which transferred him and his family to Hoffman Estates, IL. He was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church and volunteered at the Barn Senior Center in Schaumburg, IL.

Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mary’s Home, MO, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alex Gabriel officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery with Full Military Honors presented by the Eldon VFW Post #2442.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials in his name are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Lung Association, or the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
