Patrick Charles Goolsby, 79, passed away Wednesday, 6 Sep. 2017, at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, MO.

Born to Fred Harold and Helen Charlotte (Henry) Goolsby on 8 Feb. 1938, in Fresno, CA, he was raised in the San Joaquin valley, graduating from Denair High School. He later attended college in Arcata and Fresno, CA

Pat enlisted in the US Army in 1957 and served for two years. 

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Among his callings were Sunday school president and stake missionary.

He moved his family to Alaska, where he became a private pilot, and he loved fishing and hunting, being an renowned marksman.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne S. Goolsby and one brother, Eric L. Goolsby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sally Jo (Bennett) Goolsby; his children, Rex L. Goolsby of Mansfield, MO; Patricia C. Gibson of Maricopa, CA; Eric G. Goolsby of Eldon, MO; Phillip M. Goolsby of Ione, CA; Gordon R. Goolsby of Henderson, NV; 20 loving grandchildren and 19.5 adoring great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tues., 12 Sep. 2017, at 10 AM in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse in Osage Beach with Bishop Emery Evans presiding.  Dedication of the grave will follow at 2:00 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO, with full military honors presented.
