Milton Herbert Hemman, 85, of Rocky Mount, Missouri passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at his residence in Rocky Mount, Missouri.  He was born May 5, 1931 in St. Charles, Missouri the son of the late Herbert and Amalia (Mueller) Hemman.  On January 8, 1993 in St. Charles, Missouri he was united in marriage to Marita (Schlichtmann) Hemman who survives of the home.

Milton is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Fendrick and her family; his daughter, Kim; his son Curtis; his grandson Christopher and granddaughter, Kimberly.  He is also survived by Marita’s four children and her extended family who have been an important part of his life for many years and the latest love of his life, his two year old great great granddaughter Clara and her two month old baby sister Maxine who he hadn’t quite gotten to know yet.

Milton was baptized, confirmed, and schooled in the Missouri Lutheran faith.  He was proud of this and remained faithful to it all his life.  Upon moving to the lake in 1994, Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark became his source of inspiration and love for his pastors and fellow parishioners.

Milton worked hard all his life beginning at a very young age, retiring after thirty-seven years with AT&T (Southwestern Bell) and continuing daily maintenance of his very large yard in Rocky Mount, MO.  His German work ethic and pride in his beautiful yard was very much evident.

His service to his country by four years in the Navy was a major highlight.  To have people stop him when wearing his “retired Navy” hat to say, “Thank you for your service” was always a source of amazement and joy.  Fishing, golfing and playing cards were an enjoyment of his lake life and he appreciated the special friends he made here.

Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Lake Ozark, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kris Morris officiating.  Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in his name may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
