Melvin Porter Obituary

Melvin Eugene Porter, 94, of Russellville, Missouri passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Osage Beach Healthcare & Rehab.  He was born May 11, 1925.  He was a World War II veteran.  Melvin is the last of sixteen children born to the late William H. and Blanche Mae (Bilyeau) Porter.  In 1945 he was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth (Fisher) Porter.  Melvin and Margaret were big truck farmers for years.

 

Preceding him in death are his parents and wife of sixty-eight years, seven brothers, Richard, Raymond, Ebbenezer, Robert, Cecil, Kenneth and Aubrey Lee, eight sisters, June Rose Klein, Ruby Kusgen, Linnie Dutcher, Dora Anna Sperber, Elsie Hohman, Opal Ellison, Dorothy Russell, Jane Reimler, and son in law, Howard Carender

 

Survivors are his daughter, Connie Carender, granddaughter, Jody Carender, step grandson, Dale Carender, great grandchildren, Kenzie, Keva, Tiri, Bear, Liam, and Marty Carender, one sister in law, Herma Porter, many nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.

 

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated.

 

Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.

 

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
