Luvenia L. Gier, 88 of Eldon, Missouri passed away Monday afternoon July 16, 2018 at Miller County Care Center in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was born in Meta, Missouri on August 25, 1929 to the late Herod and Altha (Seaton) Champlain. She was wed on October 2, 1949 in Lake Ozark, Missouri to Oleph Gier, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2010.
Luvenia is survived by sons, Tony Gier & Family of Lake Ozark, Missouri; Bruce Gier & Family of Eldon, Missouri; and Mark Gier & Family of Carthage, Missouri, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Luvenia was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Eldon and active in their Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF). Before retiring, she worked alongside her husband as bookkeeper for Gier’s Standard Service for many years and prior to that, worked at Citizen’s Bank of Eldon, Missouri. She enjoyed golfing with Oleph, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Missouri on Thursday July 19, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Eldon First Christian Church on Friday July 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bill Foglesong officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.
