Loretta Hetsel (Woten) died on Saturday, March 17, 2018, in McKinney, Texas. She was born July 1, 1915 in Eldon, Missouri, the daughter of John Wesley Woten and Lydia Allen Woten. She married Ralph E. Hetsel in Sedalia, Missouri in 1940. Mrs. Hetsel was a graduate of Eldon High School and Bethany Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. While Ralph served in the military during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, Loretta served at Fort Leonard Wood as a nurse caring for returning soldiers. She was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Hetsel (91); her son, Gene Arthur Hetsel (60); and her grandson, Patrick Jason Hetsel (21). She is survived by Ruth Hetsel (daughter-in-law); Jeffrey Hetsel (grandson); Lynne Hetsel (granddaughter); Dale and Connie Copeland (nephew and niece); Les and Sue Copeland (nephew and niece); Rich and Sunga Kenyon (nephew and niece); and two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Zachary Hetsel.
A memorial service will be held graveside on April 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Eldon Cemetery. Burial by Phillips Funeral Home with services conducted by the Eldon United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve George officiating.
