John H. Brotherson, 96, formerly of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  He was born April 16, 1921 in White Church, Kansas, the son of the late Homer L. and Gertrude (Walker) Brotherson.  On August 29, 1940 in White Church, Kansas he was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. (Morris) Brotherson who preceded him in death on December 18, 1974.

He is survived by his children and their spouses,

Spencer and Anne Brotherson of South Carolina; Pam and Wayne Jean of Dexter, MO; Debbie and Larry Pringle of Carthage, MO; a grandson, Barrett Brotherson and wife Belinda; and one great-grandson, Brenden Brotherson.

John was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II where he was a pilot and a pilot instructor.  He moved to Eldon, built his home and spent several years employed in real estate and real estate management.  He was married again to Myrtle Brotherson and she preceded him in death in 2000.  John spent many years active in the First Christian Church of Eldon, MO and the VFW Honor Guard of Eldon.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church of Eldon with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bill Foglesong officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett, MO with Full Military Honors presented.

Memorials in his name are suggested to the First Christian Church of Eldon, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
