Joe R Powell of St. Charles, MO passed away on Feb 27, 2017 at the age of 87.  Devoted husband of N Katherine Powell (DeGraffenreid) and father of Jo Ann Powell, Marilyn (Mark) Rickerson, Becky (Greg) Shockley, Carol (Dave) Sproat, loving grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 8.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cleora Powell of Lake Ozark. 
 Joe grew up at Lake Ozark and attended School of the Osage.  He graduated from Rolla School of Mines in 1951 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked most of his career for Union Electric/Ameren UE.  He served in Korea as a 1st Lt. in the Army.  
Visitation to be held Saturday March 4 at Phillips Funeral Home, 5 South Oak St., Eldon, MO from 11-12:30 with service immediately following.  Burial will follow at Eldon City Cemetery
