James Fiers

James Fiers, 92, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Missouri.  He was born March 4, 1927 in Smithland, Kentucky the son of the late James Flanigan and Mintie (King) Fiers.  On March 18, 1946 in Hernando, Mississippi he was united in marriage to Erma Beatrice (Wood) Fiers who preceded him in death on March 22, 1987.

Survivors include,

Children, Billy Joe Fiers (Jan) of Whitestown, IN; Sandra Wright (Bill) of Eldon, MO; Diane Vernon (Ronnie) of Eldon, MO

Two Brothers, Don Fiers & Norman Fiers

Grandchildren, David Fiers, Brent Fiers, Lori Priest, Kathy Wright, Lisa Speed, Randy Wright, Dustin Vernon & Ryan Vernon

Ten Great Grandchildren

A daughter, Norma Fiers, four brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation for twenty-five years as a crew leader.  He dearly loved his dog “Allie”.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Earl Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at Tol Wood Cemetery near Eldon, MO.

Memorials in his name are suggested to the Dogwood Animal Shelter
