Harriet (Pruter) Hlavacek

Harriet Hlavacek, 98, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at Eldon Nursing and Rehab in Eldon, Missouri.  She was born September 10, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late John Carl and Fanny Mathilde (Larsen) Pruter.  On October 12, 1940 in River Forest, Illinois she was united in marriage to Stanley Edward Hlavacek who preceded her in death on October 5, 1998.

Sons, Bruce Hlavacek (Jennie) of Las Vegas, NV; Wayne Hlavacek (Marcia) of Highlandville, MO; David Hlavacek of Jefferson City, MO

Daughter, Mary E. Sears (Howard) of Eldon, MO

Twelve Grandchildren & Thirty-three Great Grandchildren

Brother, Charles Pruter (Barbara) of Elgin, IL

Brother in law, Eugene Hlavacek (Dorothy) of Palatine, IL

Several Nieces & Nephews

A brother, Henry Pruter, and a sister, Ellen Gaspar preceded her in death.

Harriet was the executive secretary for Missouri State Bowling Proprietors.  She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church.  She was an active member of the Eldon Country Club since 1947, several bridge clubs and bowling league.  She volunteered at the election polls for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Eldon United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve George officiating with Fellowship to follow service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are suggested to the Eldon United Methodist Church.
