Mrs. Ethel Bernskoetter, 76, of Henley, MO, passed away July 19, 2017 at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City, MO, surrounded by her family. She was born May 1, 1941 in Lohman, MO, the daughter of Frank and Virginia (Meller) Jacobs. She was married on September 5, 1964 to James Limbach who preceded her in death on June 25, 1972. On March 23, 1974 in Mary’s Home, MO, she married Wilbur Bernskoetter.

Ethel was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.  She was employed by Tweedie Shoe Factory, International Shoe Factory, and the Broom Factory.  Ethel also was employed as a cook for Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School before starting Ethel and Wilma’s Catering, later known as Ethel’s Catering, which she operated until her retirement.  She was famous for hugs, fried chicken, and cinnamon rolls.

Ethel is survived by her husband of 43 years Wilbur Bernskoetter. Other survivors include two daughters; Brenda Otto (Alphonse) of St. Anthony, MO, and Connie Clarkston (Richard) of Lohman, MO, two sons; Larry Limbach (Dayna) of Henley, MO, and Terry Bernskoetter (Stephanie) of Eugene, MO.

Nine grandchildren: Megan Wilde (Jason), George Otto (Taylor), Kallee Clarkston (fiancée Ryan Victor), Dakota Clarkston, Koby and Jarin Limbach, Ashton, Colin, and Caleb Bernskoetter, two great grandchildren; Henry and Braxton Wilde.

Two brothers: Henry (Velma) and John (Donna) Jacobs of Lohman, MO, five sisters; Betty Harrison of Fulton, MO, Vernie Eichholz (Eddie) of Westphalia, MO, Lucy Bennett of Lohman, MO, Shirley Forck (Bill) of Benton, MO, and Marilyn Keller (Leon) of Lohman, MO.

Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ella Heckman of Wardsville, MO, Lucille Limbach of Mary’s Home, MO, Ole Taule of Great Falls, MT, Patsy Ewers of St Anthony, MO, Betty Morff (Ronnie) of Eugene, MO, and Evonda Limbach of Boonville, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James (Jim) Limbach, one sister, Anna Marie Jacobs and one brother, Robert (Bob) Jacobs.

Visitation for Ethel Bernskoetter will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July, 21, 2017 with a prayer service at 3:00 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 10:00 A.M., at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary’s Home, MO.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery.
