Dale Currence Obituary

Dale Ray Currence, 81, passed away on January 27, 2018 on his farm north of Eldon, Missouri. 

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Eldon.  Visitation will be held from 4 -8:00 p.m. on January 30, 2018 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.  Burial will follow the funeral at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett.

Dale was born in Green Ridge area north of Eldon, MO on May 3, 1936.  He was married to Pauline Bond on June 5, 1955; they were married 62 years.

Dale was a farmer his entire adult life.  For over 30 years he owned and managed Tri-County Tractor Sales on Highway 54 South in Eldon.  In more recent years he owned and operated Clean Concepts Truck Wash and Storage Units on East North Street in Eldon, in addition to various rental properties.  He enjoyed farming, auctions, and spending time with family and friends.  He was an active member of the community, serving several years on the Eldon School Board, and as a trustee of the Greenmore Memorial Gardens. Dale was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Eldon serving as a deacon, Men’s Sunday School teacher, on various committees, and singing in the choir.

Dale is survived by his wife, Pauline, and his five children: Melody Hannah and her husband, Kent, of Eldon; Mary Jane Correnti and her husband, Tom, of St. Louis; Steve Currence and his wife, Karie, of Webb City, Paula Misloski and her husband, Jim, of Jefferson City; and Dan Currence and his wife, Sherry, of Eldon.  He was also proud of and is survived by 14 grandchildren (Kory & Ethan Hannah; Brian Correnti & Leanne Correnti Gregston; Kasey, Cragin, & Sally Currence; Perry, Ellen, & Davis Misloski; and Samuel, Aaron, Joel, & Lily Currence), 4 step-grandchildren (Tracy Correnti Hipner, Tom Correnti, and Cade & Sidney Englert), and 5 great-grandchildren.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, David E. and Opal A. Currence, as well as his 4 older brothers: Estel, Howard, Wilford, and Jerald.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Eldon First Baptist Church Renovation Fund.  The family of Dale Currence wishes to thank the Miller County First Responders.
