Charlotte Marie Blakemore, 89, of Liberty,MO passed away on Saturday January 4th, 2020 after an extended illness.
Charlotte had a love for gardening, cooking and spending family time whenever possible. Charlotte was very proud of her immediate and extended family and their long history in central Missouri. Charlotte will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others whenever possible.
Charlotte was born on February 18, 1930 in Alamosa, Colorado to William and Charlotte Bodamer. She was married to George Blakemore on June 18, 1952, who preceded her in death on November 27, 2014. Charlotte graduated from Eldon High School in 1948 and from Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri class of 1952. She was active in her service sorority Beta Sigma Phi throughout her adult life and into her later years.
Charlotte began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Carthage, MO before starting a family and eventually settling in Liberty, MO for the majority of her life. She began raising a family as well and continuing her teaching career that lasted over 20 years in Holt Elementary school in Holt Missouri.
Survivors include her sons Kent Blakemore (Margo) Mckinney,TX, Chris Blakemore (Melany) Olathe,KS, and daughter Lisa Martin (Brian) Camden Point, MO. Grandchildren Jonathan(Annie), Josh, Jordan, Madison, Christine and K.D.(Brad). Three great grandchildren include Marissa, Hunter and Hadley, who brought great joy to her life.
Special thanks to all caregivers and Hospice who attended to Charlottes needs in a compassionate professional manner these last few years.
A graveside service will be performed at Olean Cemetery at 11 am January 10th with Pastor Bob Hoskins officiating.
