William “Bill” Slone, 85, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Ozark Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Osage Beach, Missouri.  He was born June 19, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of the late William Everett Slone, Sr. and Milda Anna (Lapel) Slone.

Grandchildren, Cristina Benton (John); Tammy Tombs (Travis); Sean Moore (Tiffany); Erica Baumbach (Josh)

Great Grandchildren, Brandon Benton; Alana Barton, Ayden Tombs; Julia Moore; Michael Moore; Cooper Moore & Isabel Hale

Sister, Shirley Belshe of Overland, MO

Five nephews and four nieces.

A son, William Kent Slone, one great grandson, T.J. Tombs, and one great granddaughter, Hanna Tombs preceded him in death. 

He was formerly married to Ronda Slone Connelley of Jefferson City, MO.

Bill served in the United States Army and was placed in the 888th engineering unit called the SCARWAF.  He was a member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ.  He was employed with Scott Gas for nearly fifty years before his retirement.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Eldon, MO with Lewis Garbe, Evangelist officiating.  Burial will be at Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett, MO.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in his name are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
