Jeremiah "Jerry" Barsby

Jeremiah “Jerry” Barsby, 35, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, Missouri.  He was born November 9, 1982 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Vaughn and Carol (Vaughn) Barsby who survive of Crocker, Missouri.  On May 31, 2008 in Crocker, Missouri he was united in marriage to Sharon (Goodwin) Barsby who survives of the home.

A sister, Heather Barsby and maternal grandparents, Betty Glanzmann Vaughn and Dean Ashton Vaughn, and paternal grandparents Marjorie Orr Barsby and Gerald Barsby preceded him in death.

Jerry graduated from Laquey High School in Laquey, MO.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO.  He was employed as a sixth grade teacher with the Eldon Upper Elementary School for twelve years where he was instrumental in the creation of and the success of the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Team and many other school activities.  Jerry was nominated for Teacher of the Year for Eldon Upper Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year.  The school and the kids were his life.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 – 4:30 PM at the Eldon Upper Elementary School with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:30 PM with Pastor David White officiating.  Private Family Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Mr. Barsby Scholarship Fund at Central Bank.
