Janice Elea Halderman, 78, of Eldon died at her home on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

She was born on November 25, 1938 in Tuscumbia, to William and Carmen Hicks Thompson.

On December 1, 1956 she was married in Iberia to Earl Halderman.

Janice was a dedicated homemaker, who was renowned for her great cooking talents.  She attended the Saline Valley and Oak Street Churches of Christ.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, her husband of 49 years and her dog, Cassie.

Janice is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Janet Halderman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a daughter, Vanessia Gilbert of Eldon; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Randy Pearce of Ann Arbor, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Werner, Kim Batson and Kyle Halderman, Rachel, Paul and Rebecca Gilbert, and Kristen, Kari and Dillon Pearce; nine great-grandchildren, Elea, Colton, Evie and Emma Werner, Isley, Fennin and Becklyn Batson, and Landon and Holden Wry; two sisters, Billie Setser of Springfield and Linda Birdsong of Lebanon and a brother, Leon Thompson of Warrenton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Halderman and a brother, Merl Thompson.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with Murl Nash officiating.  Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Eldon Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
