Hazel “Ruth” Barrett, 82, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Eldon Nursing and Rehab in Eldon, Missouri.  She was born August 6, 1935 in Tahoka, Texas, the daughter of the late John Horton and Patriel (Brown) Parker.  On January 14, 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico she was united in marriage to Gary L. Barrett who preceded her in death on December 12, 1990.

Daughters, Sydney Tompkins (Gary) of Eldon, MO; Alyson Brown (Jeff) of Lubbock, TX

Brother, Don Parker (Jean) of Happy, TX

Numerous nieces and nephews

Three brothers, James, Gene & Johnny, and five sisters, Wanda, Clelia, Jo, Faye and Irene preceded her in death.

Ruth was employed with the Federal Home Loan Administration and she owned and operated a book store.  Ruth was a very civic minded person and was involved in many organizations over the years.  Her greatest accomplishments were her children and her family.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Bill Foglesong officiating.  Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in her name are suggested to the Eldon Nursing and Rehab - Resident Christmas Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
