Alta L. (Wood) Elevier Scott, 90, of Eldon, Missouri went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Overland Park, Kansas with family at her side. She was born September 1, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Era (Dowell) Wood. In 1943 she was united in marriage to Gerald H. Elevier, Sr. and together raised twelve children and were married for thirty-eight years. She then married Grant I. Scott in 1988. They were married for seventeen years until he went to be with the Lord.

Alta has 120 grandchildren that she loved and prayed for every day.
Two sons, Fred Elevier & Jimmy Elevier, a son in law, James Brake Sr.; three brothers, John Wood, Robert Wood & Earl Wood; two sisters, Doris Moseley & Wanda Geiger; and seven grandchildren, Todd Brake, Tim Brake Sr., Eric Elevier, Kevin Elevier, Robert Elevier, Dezi Rae Smith & Carter Fansler preceded her in death.
Alta was member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Ozark, MO for seventeen years. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Lake Ozark, MO since 2005. She was employed with Sunshine Biscuit Company of Kansas for thirteen years and then in home health care for ten years. She was a charter member of the Lions Club in Rocky Mount, MO, and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eldon VFW Post #2442 of Eldon, MO. When she wasn’t playing BINGO, she enjoyed spending time with her family and telling her grandchildren stories.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with a Graveside Service beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Charlie Kempf officiating at Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett, MO.
Memorials in her name are suggested to Greenmore Memorial Gardens.
